The City of Stuart has announced that its snow removal ordinance in relation to city streets and sidewalks has gone into effect .
As of Friday, November 1st and running until April 1st of next year, the city’s snow ordinance states no vehicles may be parked or left unattended on any public street, alley or City-owned off-street parking area where snow accumulation is present. Vehicles may be towed away at the owner’s expense, and drivers are also reminded that no parking is allowed within five feet on either side of alleys if possible.
The City of Stuart also reminds residents that it is the responsibility of home and property owners to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 48 hours of accumulation. If the City has to complete removal, property owners will be assessed the cost it takes for the City to do so.
Anyone with questions about the city’s snow ordinance can contact City Hall at 515-523-1455.
