The Dallas County Hospital is hosting a Medicare Part D checkup next week and those interested need to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Sue Wittmack with the Senior Health Insurance Information Program says these checkups are required for Medicare patients.
“This year in Iowa we have 34 different drug plans for the year of 2013 that are available to anyone on Medicare, next year it’s going to be about 29 plans that are available. With the different plans, each year during this open enrollment time the plans change. They change the premiums, they change the deductibles, they also change the drugs that they cover. So everyone on Medicare has to go through a Medicare Part D checkup, they have to review plans every fall” says Wittmack.
The Perry checkup event takes place at the Dallas County Hospital from 9am to 4pm Monday, November 11th.
