droughtThe overall drought continues remain unchanged throughout the Raccoon River Valley area.

The National Climatic Data Center continues to list the northwest portion of Greene County as an area experiencing extreme drought conditions, while the rest of the county and northern part of Guthrie County are still classified as in a severe drought and the rest of the area still has moderate drought conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received 0.78 inches of rain so far this month.  The normal monthly precipitation level is 1.94 inches.

Jefferson has had just over an inch of rain so far.  They typically see 1.88 inches and just over an inch has fallen in Guthrie Center as well.  The usually receive just over two inches of precipitation.

The current forecast shows mostly clear skies through Veterans Day.
