Police Chief Dave Morlan says 16 year-old Blythe Eversole was one of the two male juvenile suspects that was apprehended from this morning’s chase that ended at his home at 609 South Olive Street.

Chief Morlan states that Eversole and another minor stole Nicole Thompson’s blue Mitsubishi from 509 South Olive Street around 5:45am.  The two juveniles were then radared by the Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Enforcement officer at 7:15am going through Slifer in Webster County going over 100 miles-per-hour.

Eversole then drove into Jefferson city limits when the officer that was in pursuit was told to back off due to the safety of the civilians.  Blythe’s mother gave permission to authorities to search her house at 609 South Olive Street and arrested him.

Chief Morlan says Eversole is charged with eluding an officer, which is a felony.  After he was captured, Morlan adds that Eversole was referred to the Juvenile Court Services and taken to a temporary holding facility.

The second suspect remains at large.

Morlan adds that the investigation is being handled by the Department of Transportation’s Vehicle Enforcement Department with additional charges pending at this time.
