Though it has been warmer the past few days, last week’s surprise snow in central Iowa is an indication that winter weather will be here to stay shortly.
In advance of us receiving any more snow, the Lake Panorama Association has released information regarding its snow removal policies that residents should be aware of.
The Association’s maintenance department and road crews work to move snow on over 70 lane-miles of streets around the lake, which encompasses nearly 1,000 driveways and mailboxes. With so much moving to be done, residents are reminded that the Association is not responsible for creating a clearing around mailboxes so that main delivery can take place.
If a resident’s mailbox is damaged due to snow being thrown by the plow, it is the Association’s policy to replace mailboxes and posts to the minimum mailbox standards.
Residents are also reminded not to follow behind snowplows too closely during the winter months as visibility is limited. Members planning to park along roadsides during a snowstorm due to such things as challenging driveways should contact the LPA in advance.
Anyone with questions about the lake’s snow removal policies can contact the LPA Office at 641-755-2301.
