A Des Moines teen remains hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning slightly southwest of Menlo in southern Guthrie County.

Guthrie Co. Iowa DeputyMercy Hospital officials tell Raccoon Valley Radio that 18 year-old Carly Dycus of Des Moines is currently in good condition and is expected to be discharged sometime tomorrow.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, Dycus was northbound on Redwood Avenue just before 2am Sunday with four other passengers in her 2008 Toyota vehicle, when she failed to obey a stop sign and ramped over the intersection at White Pole Road and Ranch Trail.

Dycus failed to maintain control of the vehicle and it entered the east ditch of Ranch Trail, hit an embankment and ultimately rolled.

One other passenger was transported along with Dycus to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, but that name has not been released.

Dycus has been charged with First Offense OWI, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Failure to Maintain Control.
