perry signThe Perry Water Department will be increasing the amount of chlorine that is added to the City’s water supply starting today.

The chlorination was originally scheduled to begin November 18th, though the department had to postpone the process until today.

The City says this is necessary from time to time to control the formation of nitrite in the water’s distribution system.  The residual is expected to last two to three weeks.

Residents may experience an unpleasant taste or odor with their tap water for a few days but it should clear up shortly.

Anyone with questions can call the Perry Water Works at 465-2562.
