ADMThe ADM boys basketball team dropped its season opener on Tuesday to DC-G, but the Tigers will be back on the court tonight against Winterset in the second game of a varsity doubleheader in Adel.

Tonight’s game will be the first of the season for Winterset, and head coach Aaron Mager doesn’t know a whole lot about what to expect from the Huskies.

“This year I really have no clue what we’re going to get out of these guys.  They have seven sophomores on their roster.  We haven’t seen them play, obviously they haven’t played a game so I don’t really know schematically what they want to do.  They were scouting us Tuesday so I’m sure they saw where we struggled and where we were successful… so they kind of have an advantage there.  (But) I think we have an advantage having a game under our belt and they have an advantage of they’re going in blind, so we’ll see which one benefits the other (team).”

Taking care of the basketball will be tonight’s key for ADM if the Tigers want to pick up their first win of the season.  They had 25 turnovers in their loss Tuesday, and that won’t cut it against anybody.

“Overall, turnovers are always a concern.  We want to play fast, and I know with playing fast that we’re going to have a few more, but not to the point where we get careless.  We had some careless ones (Tuesday) where we had one-handed passes or just terrible decisions that we’ve got to clean up.”

Tune-in to tonight’s boys game on 107.9FM, KKRF to see if the Tigers can get back on track in the early portion of this 2013-14 season.  They will tip-off 15 minutes following the conclusion of the varsity girls’ contest.
