droughtStill no major changes in the overall drought conditions this week as the entire Raccoon River Valley area could use some precipitation.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry and Jefferson have received a trace amount of precipitation so far this month while Guthrie Center hasn’t registered any.  All Perry and Jefferson usually see about 1.3 inches of precipitation in December, while Guthrie Center expects closer to 1.5 inches.

This week’s drought monitor from the National Climatic Data Center shows Dallas, the majority of Guthrie and southern border of Greene County continue to have moderate drought conditions.  Most of Greene County is still classified as in a severe drought and the southern third of Guthrie County is abnormally dry.
