ArnoldWhile the first semester isn’t quite over in the West Central Valley Schools, the academic days of 2013 have come and gone, and for Superintendent Dr. David Arnold, it was a “banner year” for his district.

“We saw a lot of growth academically–the scores are constantly increasing.  Obviously the facilities have improved a great deal.  We were able to close the new athletic complex–that’s completed.  We’re in the process now of finishing up the restrooms in bus barns… I would anticipate 2014-15 being another year good for the district so we’re moving ahead.”

Dr. Arnold also noted that West Central Valley’s enrollment has increased slightly, and he welcomes the additional funding his district will receive from the state as a result.

For Arnold, 2013 had a couple of specific highlights.  One being the improved test scores from students, which means West Central Valley will be getting a more favorable measurement from both the state and federal governments.  The other being the culmination of the athletic complex construction project, which resulted in a new football field that received glowing remarks from home and away fans all season during the fall.
