A nationally-renowned soul singer is visiting the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield next month for a single night concert.
Jane L. Powell, known as the “Goddess of Soul,” will perform on Saturday, January 18th, and local residents interested in attending are encouraged to buy their tickets before the Center runs out of seats.
Powell has opened for and worked with such notable artists as Lou Rawls, John Jett, Koko Taylor and Ray Charles.
The show, which begins at 7pm on the 18th, will feature Powell’s vocals backed by piano, bass and drums, as she provides the audience with her own touch on some classic R&B, jazz, reggae and gospel tunes.
Powell’s concert is part of the Center’s Premier Performance Series, which brings nationally touring acts to the stage of the restored 1896 Warren Opera House.
Contact Executive Director Ken Sidey at the Warren Cultural Center for more information about the unique concert by calling 641-343-7337.
