We heard from Lake Panorama Association General Manager John Rutledge yesterday as he discussed the challenging year of 2013 given how up-and-down the weather was from late spring through the fall.
But fortunately for Rutledge, tomorrow brings with it a new year and many new opportunities, and he discusses what the Association will be looking forward to in 2014.
“Our biggest challenge right now is to assist the RIZ Board in taking ownership of the new dredge that they’ve purchased that should arrive around April 1st. It’s about a $2.2 million dredge and booster pump that is going to replace one that’s been in service for around 15 years here, so getting that delivered and put in service is going to be our number one priority.”
Rutledge says the Association does not believe the boating season will be affected at all while the new dredge is being installed. He also adds that the Association hopes to get completed with road sealcoating much sooner in 2014 than this previous year.
Most years, Lake Panorama’s roads are sealcoated by Memorial Day, but due to the wet spring, roads weren’t coated until almost Labor Day in 2013.
