Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of Seven Hills Park and the skating rink at Chatauqua Park in Jefferson.

Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says Seven Hills Park has to have at least four inches of snow for it to be opened to the public for sledding or snowboarding.  She points out that the skating rink must be iced over before it can be used by the public.

Lautner explains that there’s no staff supervision at the skating rink and you must use your own skates, but that it’s a free activity for the public.

She reminds everyone about the the broomball party at the skating rink at happens tomorrow, weather permitting, at 1:30pm which is free and open to the public, you must bring your own broom.
