Greene Co. SupervisorsThe Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday for the start of their bi-weekly meetings.

The Board approved the re-appointments of John Muir as chair and Guy Richardson as vice-chair for 2014.

The Supervisors also approved the cash count for December 31, 2013 and all the appointments for committees and departments for each member of the supervisors.  It was reported that the county attorney, recorder, treasurer and two supervisor’s positions will be up for election this year.

It was determined that the county supervisor meetings remain at 8:30am on Mondays unless there is a holiday on a Monday, then the meeting would happen on the following Tuesday.  There will also be a second meeting held on Thursdays at 8:30am during the budgeting process.

President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas as official holidays for the courthouse to be closed.

The Board approved using the Master Matrix for hog confinement additions in the county.  County Zoning/Sanitarian Tim Healy reported that 88 counties, including Greene County, use the master matrix resolution to give the county guidelines for hog confinement additions.

The Board then approved appropriating the final 15% of the conservation budget for projects that were completed.

Finally, the Supervisors decided to table a discussion regarding increasing two sheriff’s deputies salaries to compensate their base salaries that were lower than the last two deputies that were hired last year.
