The Greene County Compensation Board met on Monday.
The Board approved Bill Raney as Chairman of the Board.
A request for a 3% raise came from Sheriff Steve Haupert, Recorder Marcia Tasler, Treasurer Donna Lawson and Auditor Jane Heun. When asked about the Supervisors, Tom Contner told the Board that he personally doesn’t need a raise but that the other members deserved at least a cost of living raise which Raney pointed out is at 2.34% over the ten-year average.
The Board then approved a 3% across the board raise for all elected county officials. Then, those officials can pass down no less than that amount to their deputies of each department.
The Supervisors can opt to not accept a raise and make that decision separate from the rest of the departments.
The decision to accept the Compensation Board’s recommendation will be made at a county supervisor’s meeting. The Supervisors approved a 2% raise last year.
Below is the list of current salaries for each elected-county position and what their salaries would be if increased by the recommended 3%.
