Jake-ChapmanIowa has been getting a lot of positive press lately.  The state and the Des Moines metro area have been put in the national spotlight recently for being wealthy and just an overall great place to live.

State Senator Jake Chapman of Adel says he’s glad our state is getting recognized but not shocked.

“Well Iowa’s the best kept secret, but the secret is kind of getting out of the bag here.  It doesn’t really surprise me when you think about the opportunities Iowans have for jobs and growth” says Chapman.

But Chapman says it’s not lawmakers that can take credit for these accomplishments.

“It’s not the government that has created these jobs.  We create an environment that attracts entrepreneurs and job creators and we create and environment that attracts entertainment.”

And even though this kind of attention is a positive, Senator Chapman says we have to keep growing and moving in the right direction.  He says all of us need to learn from the past as to what works and doesn’t work and continue to build Iowa as a great place to live, work and raise a family.
