Iowa Central Community College (Ft. Dodge) football players Tory Beger and Reed Ostrander, both of Grand Junction, received NJCAA Academic All-Region honors. Beger was named to the first academic team and Ostrander was on the second team. Both are 2013 Greene County High School graduates and both were standout athletes for East Greene, and then Greene County. A minimum 3.50 grade point average on a 4.00 scale was needed to qualify for the first team and a 3.00-3.49 GPA was necessary to be named to the second team.

Beger and Ostrander were members of the Iowa Central team that won the 2013 Graphic Edge Bowl. Former Jefferson-Scranton athlete Mitch Murphy is an assistant coach at Iowa Central.
