A deputy assisted in transporting an injured Red Tail Hawk from the 1000 block of Main Street in Grand Junction to meet a raptor specialist in Bayard to begin rehabilitation for the hawk.

A deputy was dispatched to the Sparky’s One Stop in Churdan for a reported fight and assault. It was reported by the attendant at Sparky’s, that a Dodge Charger pulled onto the driveway and an unidentified male and female exited the vehicle demanding money from the attendant, Heather Garcia as she was outside of the closed and locked station . The female then began to fight with Garcia and was then approached by the male subject. Travis Venticher of Churdan happened to be at the store at that time and tried to help Heather Garcia during the fight. The unknown male subject then proceeded to get into the Venticher car driving recklessly, striking and damaging a gas pump. The Venteicher 2000 Ford Taurus was later estimated to be a total loss. The driver of the Dodge Charger and the male and female assailants then left Churdan proceeding southbound on I Avenue.

Tuesday, January 28th

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a male and female subject that were creating a disturbance in the Sparky’s One Stop on Highway 30 in Jefferson. Subsequently arrested by a Jefferson Police Officer and a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy were Zakkariah Dylan-Levi Boudewyn 21, of Clinton, Iowa and Mischell Cristen Lampe, 23 also of Clinton. It was determined that a Dodge Charger being driven by Matthew David Kraft 32, of Rockwell City, Iowa, had abandoned the two subjects at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 4. The two were then given a ride to the Sparkey’s One Stop, where they were arrested and charged by the Jefferson Police Officer for 9 various charges. The Deputy determined that these were the two assailants from the assault that occurred at the Sparky’s One Stop in Churdan earlier. The deputy then charged Zakkariah Boudewyn with Assault While Participating in a Felony, 2 counts, Criminal Mischief 2nd  Degree, Operating without Owners Consent, and Operating without a Valid Driver’s License. Mischell Lampe was charged with Aiding and Abetting, Robbery 1st Degree and Assault While Participating in a Felony. A Calhoun County Deputy informed the Greene County Law Enforcement Center that these two will be charged in Calhoun County in connection with Disorderly Conduct at the Casey’s Convenience Store in Lohrville.

Deputies were dispatched to a structure fire at 508 South 11th Street in Grand Junction. The fire was reported to have started in the garage and spread to the house. The house which is owned by Keisha Marie Kopecky sustained major roof damage as well as water and smoke damage throughout. The garage and two vehicles inside, were reported to be a total loss. Siding on a garage owned by Davy Cooklin of 506 11th Street also received major damage. Fire units from Grand Junction, Jefferson and Churdan were all dispatched to the fire as well as the Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel.

A deputy while serving civil papers at a residence in the 200 block of 175th Street arrested Cordilla Kay Lorentzen of Scranton on an outstanding warrant from the Perry Police Department.

A deputy is investigating a reported civil altercation between family members at a residence in the 2000 block of 100th Street.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
