Greene Co. SupervisorsThe Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.

The Board approved the County Sheriff’s union contract with making a few changes to the existing contract.  First, deputies Kirk Hammer’s and Nathaniel Chapman’s salaries would be raised to $39,400 and $39,750 respectively due to the two newest deputies that were hired receiving a higher salary and to reflect their years of experience.  Also, the jail administrator’s position was removed from the union and put with the other administrative positions.

The Board also approved a resolution to support a road use tax increase of ten cents over the next three years to help fund road infrastructure projects in the county and throughout the state.

The Board finished the meeting with department head annual reviews.  Vice-Chair Guy Richardson stipulated to each individual that they changed their ranking scale to reflect that a rating of a five means that the work the individual is doing is perfect and he pointed out that there isn’t anyone out there who is perfect and by not giving an automatic five means that there’s room for improvement.

Custodian Mike Wyatt, IT and Drainage Clerk Michelle Fields and Engineer Wade Weiss all received a 4.5-out-of-5 rating with Sanitarian and Zoning Tim Healy received a 4-out-of-5 rating.  Chair John Muir commended everyone on their work and how smooth each department has been in the previous year.
