The Stuart Public Library has set the reschedule date for its “Dale City History” lecture that was postponed last week due to inclement weather.
The lecture, which is part of the library’s Life Long Learning series, will now be held on Thursday, March 13th at 6pm. Chili and light refreshments will be served prior to the event at 5:30.
Local resident Jim Lonsdale and his daughter, Lisa Sherman, will lead the “Dale City History” presentation by talking to attendees about the reasons behind why the first Lonsdales came to America from England and how they decided to settle in Dale City. Sherman says she will also discuss the business boom of Dale City between the 1860s and 1890s.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Anyone with questions can contact the library at 515-523-2152.
