The revitalization project at the Perry Public Library is moving forward at full speed ahead.

Library Director Mary Murphy says new additions are being added all the time.

“Now we have the school age furniture and you’re in for a treat.  When you go to the library, come to the children’s section in the east wing area and you will see some furniture that looks like books and it is cool” says Murphy.

She says they have been working on implementing pieces from this project over time but later this spring the heavy work will be completed.

“We’re slowly doing it up until April 27th when we’ll be closed for a week.  We’re going to relocate all the public access computers to the middle of the library and we’ll have to trench in the cement to do that.  But when we reopen May 3rd, fingers crossed everything will be done in the space utilization project.”

The library decided to reutilize their current space through these types of improvements after a study showed how difficult and expensive it would be to expand the current building.
