TimmonsTomorrow, the public is invited to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission’s next meeting at the Polk County Room at Prairie Meadows Casino in Altoona.

Agenda items includes a 45-minute presentation made by Wild Rose Jefferson LLC for a casino and entertainment facility in Jefferson.  Chief Operating Officer for Wild Rose Entertainment, Tom Timmons says they plan to spend half of their time showing a video that they made of several people from Greene County expressing their comments about the casino.

Timmons talks about why they chose to include a video as part of their presentation.

“They’re the ones that are responsible for this of us getting this far so they wanted to tell their story.  I can stand at the podium and tell it, but ‘A’: I’m not that dynamic of a speaker and ‘B’:  I’d rather have the individuals that have been close to it and going through it tell their story.”

Other details of their presentation includes an architect group showing what the facility will look like which has a 70-room hotel by Cobblestone Inn, an entertainment venue and a sports bar/restaurant.  Plus a representative with Cobblestone Inn will be there to share their side of the project and Timmons adds that they won’t focus on the benefits of gaming but rather the facility as an entire package.

Timmons comments that the Commission will not make any comments during or after their presentation because those types of discussions will take place during their site visit to Jefferson on May 29th.

Other agenda items that the Commission will discuss are the two feasibility studies which precedes Wild Rose’s presentation and the renewal of all the gaming licenses for the 15-state run casinos.

Timmons invites everyone to the meeting and notes that it’s a come-and-go, publicly held meeting that starts at 8:30am.
