guthrie county conservationThe Guthrie County Conservation Board has announced that the Prairie Woodland Conservation Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2014 Bennie F. Hall Scholarship.

Each year, the scholarship is offered to Guthrie County resident high school seniors that are interested in studying conservation, ecology or outdoor recreation related majors in college.  Current college students that have completed at least two years of study in a conservation major are also eligible to apply.

Bennie Hall was a well-known hunter and trapper in Guthrie County who “loved wildlife and conservation land management and understood the value of further education for motivated students,” according to the Conservation Board.

Students interested in applying for Hall’s scholarship can pick up application forms at all county high school guidance offices.

Applications must be submitted to the Guthrie County Conservation Office, located at 206 W. South Street in Panora by April 18th.
