petsThe Panora P.E.T.S. animal shelter’s inaugural “Fur Ball” is exactly a month away now, and volunteer Mindy Kurtz says the organization has recently received numerous donations and sponsorships to help make this new fundraiser a big success.

The event will feature live music, dinner and dancing, but Kurtz says the live and silent auction will be the big draws.

“A couple of the big items that we’re really excited about… we have a week-long stay plus a three-day pontoon rental at Wild Eagle Resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin.  The LPA out at Lake Panorama was nice enough to donate two rounds of golf plus a night’s stay out there.  And we also have two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines.  So, we’ve got a lot of great items for people to bid on and raise some money for these animals.”

All monies raised at the fundraiser will go directly toward caring for animals in P.E.T.S.’ care.

For Kurtz, the inaugural “Fur Ball” is another step that will help the organization accomplish its goal of helping out animals throughout the state of Iowa.

“Some people think we just work around the Guthrie County area but that is not true.  We have volunteers that go out and they go throughout Iowa to transport animals back to us.  We then get them well and we have them fostered until we find a home for them, and we are no kill shelter so we try to find homes for everyone.”

Tickets for the shelter’s fundraiser are $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight people.  Those interested in attending can register by CLICKING HERE.

The “Fur Ball” begins at 5pm on Saturday, April 5th at the Lake Panorama National Conference Center.
