Ten local residents have been selected by Governor Terry Branstad for various state boards and commissions, including nine from Dallas County alone.

Among them are Jerry Purdy of Adel who will serve on the Architectural Examining Board, Michelle Leonard of Dallas Center and Thomas Walton of Waukee on the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning Advisory Council, Dr. Mary Mincer-Hansen of Panora on the HAWK-I Board and Jon McAvoy of Adel on the Board of Hearing Aid Dispensers.

In addition, Chris Meyer of Waukee has been selected as a Peace Officers Retirement, Accident and Disability Systems Trustee, David Berg of Perry will serve on the Commission of Persons with Disabilities, Michael Telford of Dallas Center has been selected to the Real Estate Commission, Michele Sanquist of Adel will serve on the Commission on Tobacco Use Prevention and Control, Granger’s Monica Blakely on the Commission of Veterans Affairs and Norene Mostkoff of Waukee will serve on the Iowa Workforce Development Board.

All appointees will begin their terms on May 1st, assuming their approved by the Iowa Senate.
