Today is the final day to submit nominations for the Greene County Community “Impact” Award.
Board member and previous winner Jerry Roberts says the award is to recognize those who have made a difference in the county through social, educational or cultural contributions. He stresses that this award honors someone’s efforts county-wide, not just within one city.
Nomination forms can be picked up at any of the libraries in the county and need to be delivered to 506 South Walnut Street in Jefferson or postmarked by today to be eligible.
He comments that past recipients of the Impact Award also serve as board members and they include Teena Toliver of Churdan, Pat Fagen of Grand Junction, Elaine Schermerhorn of Scranton, Mary Weaver of Rippey, Becky Cunningham of Paton, Jerry Roberts of Jefferson, Lawrence Geisler of rural Jefferson, the Churdan Town and Country Band, Carson Griffith of Grand Junction and last year’s award went to Tim and Vickie Robbins of rural Scranton.
A ceremony will be held in the south rotunda of the Greene County Courthouse at 3pm on Sunday, May 4th.
