Several Perry High School students are headed to the state Individual Speech Contest next week after receiving 1 ratings at the district contest.
Samantha Sweet qualified for state in both the public address and storytelling categories, Gabi Huntington received 1 ratings in both storytelling and solo musical theater and Kelly Wilhelmi will advance in the improvisation and spontaneous categories.
Other students who will compete at state are Sierra Coleman in improvisation, Rose DeLateur in expository address, Maryha Rivas Kirkman in radio news, Sarah Sweet in storytelling, Taylor Weiland in poetry, Andy Wolter in prose, Christian Loiza in solo musical theater, Lauren Benjamin in radio news, and Kat Leesley and Rebecca Dobson both in acting.
The state contest takes place in Glenwood Saturday, March 15th.
