The annual Greene County High School wrestling awards night and potluck supper were held on Tuesday of this week in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Head coach Mark Sawhill and middle school coach Spencer Bauer spoke about their seasons. Awards were presented to the high school wrestlers including varsity letters.
Letter winners are: Seniors- Tray Binkley, Jacob Challen, Dylan Forkner, Rene’ Guzman, Kevin Krieger, and Jeremy Scheuermann. Juniors- Jordan Challen and Abe Yoder. Sophomore- Daric Whipple. Freshmen- Hunter Ruth, Isaiah Yoder, George Zito. The Challen brothers, Forkner, and Scheuermann were named team captains. Managers Katelyn Hagen, Tori MOunt, and Kirsten St. Clair lettered, as did wrestling cheerleaders Mallory Doran, Maggie Havens, Mollie Sorber, Madisyn Taute, and Ali Varricchio.

Outstanding sophomore- Tommy Bradshaw

Fred Watson Award- Dylan Forkner and Kevin Krieger
State Qualifier Awards- Tommy Bradshaw, Jordan Challen, Dylan Forkner, Jeremy Scheuermann.
Outstanding varsity wrestler- Jeremy Scheuermann
Super Booster Awards- Jeff Schroeder and Doug Whipple
JV awards:
Logan Scheuermann Award (Outstanding JV wrestler)- Logan Scheuermann
Most imrproved- Mark Kendall
The Rams were 10-11 in dual meets including 5-4 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. With just nine of the 14 weight classes filled, the Rams won the HOIAC tournament title.
