The high school boys’ basketball season for the Greene County Rams has been over since February 24, but the last postseason honor for one of the Rams became known earlier this week. Freshman Trey Tucker was named to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A Substate 2 All Substate team. Tucker led the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference in scoring at 19.7 points per game and was a first team all-conference selection in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.

Head Coach Jeramie Hinote will have 59 of the 62 points per game the Rams scored returning in 2014-15. He acknowledged there is more to learn on offense for the Rams, but defense is where a lot of work needs to be done. The coach wasn’t satisfied with the 71 points a game his team allowed. “We need to work hard in off season on becoming better defenders in our man-to-man defense. It’s going to take a lot of work if we are to win more games next season.”

Greene County went 6-16 overall and was 5-13 in the HOIAC.
