The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is once again sponsoring free tickets and transportation to the Shriner’s Circus in Des Moines this weekend.

JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says the Shriners are giving 60 free tickets for Greene County area residents to their circus at the Jacobsen Exhibition Center on the Iowa State fairgrounds for this Saturday.

As a special treat, Lautner comments that they will give those 60 people free transportation, provided by the Jefferson-Scranton School District, to use one of their buses to take people down to the performance and bring them back to the Greene County Community Center.

The bus will leave the rec center at 12:30pm and will return following the performance in Des Moines.  Lautner adds that anyone fifth grade or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
