Clel BaudlerAs you heard from House District 20 State Representative Clel Baudler yesterday, last week’s legislative session was filled with tension and partisan governmental discussion.

With Republicans and Democrats going after each other about the wrongs committed by the state’s current and past gubernatorial administrations as it pertains to their payment of secret settlements to former state employees, Baudler says this recently uncovered problem personifies why people have lost so much trust in government.

“The way Joe Citizen–guys down at the gas station, guys that work at the Co-op or down at the elevator–they don’t trust their government.  I hear that all the time… and this is why.  So House Study Bill 684, when we get it amended and sent to the Senate, we have to bring openness, transparency and trust back to the government at whatever level–county, state or Federal.”

Baudler says he anticipates that the Senate will debate File 684 on the floor this week, but he is unsure what types of amendments and changes will be made.
