The Stuart Police Department is currently investigating a possible burglary case after a Stuart woman recently discovered her antique trunk full of family jewelry had gone missing from a storage unit she is currently using in town.

The woman, who has asked that her name not be released, says approximately $30,000 worth of things, such as gold and diamond rings, sterling silver bracelets, earrings and an antique Persian carpet, are now missing from two units she has been utilizing through M&G Storage on the west side of Stuart.

The items have been in the woman’s family for over 100 years.

She says she received a call from M&G Storage a week ago today, April 17th, saying that the doors to her units were open and the locks were missing.  She estimates the items could have been taken anytime between April 6th and April 17th.
