The high school track and field regular season is nearly over for the Greene County Rams and Paton-Churdan Rockets; the two schools in Greene County. The P-C girls and boys and the Greene County boys have meets scheduled today, but with thunderstorms a possibility, the status of those meets could be up in the air. After today, Paton-Churdan has only a May 12 meet at Guthrie Center left in the regular season and Greene County has only the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet on May 12 in Alleman left.

P-C took part in the Rolling Valley Conference meet on Monday at Mondamin. West Harrison won the boys’ team title and Woodbine won the girls’ crown. P-C was sixth among 10 boys’ teams while the girls’ tied for eighth among 11 squads. Conference champions for the Rockets were Jake Carey in the 800 meter run in 2:08.16 and Carleigh Paup in the long jump at 15′ 8″.
