Panora’s Vets Auditorium is currently in the midst of a small addition project.

After convening Monday, City Administrator Lisa Grossman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Panora City Council has given Tom Bacon, head of of the Vets Auditorium Board, the go ahead to start a project in the auditorium’s breezeway.

Bacon received an $8,000 matching grant from the Guthrie County Community Foundation this year to help pay for the project.  The entire project is expected to cost around $16,000.  Grossman says Bacon is adding closet rooms to each side of the breezeway between Vets Auditorium and the Panora Community Center.

Bacon has already started work on the new additions to the Vets facility, though a timetable for its completion has not been established.

Weather permitting, Grossman says Bacon is hoping to have the additions built and installed by the Memorial Day holiday.
