The ADM boys soccer team is the champion of the Raccoon River Conference.
The Tigers defeated Winterset and Carlisle this week to finish a perfect 7-0 in conference play. With their win over Carlisle, ADM finished the regular season with an impressive 12-5-1 record, and they enter postseason play on a seven-game winning streak.
Looking back on the regular season finale win over the Wildcats, according to the scoring summary from head coach Bill Shields, the Tigers started slowly and squandered many goal-scoring opportunities.
ADM and Carlisle were tied at intermission… but the second half was a different story.
The Tigers again dominated the action and scored five times after halftime to win the contest 5-0. Senior Jake Hutzell capped off his spectacular regular season by scoring twice and providing two assists. Through 18 games this season, Hutzell has 17 goals, which is the eighth most in Class 2A.
Next up for Coach Shields and his ADM bunch is the semi finals of Substate 6 play. The Tigers drew a first-round bye and will face the winner of Knoxville and Oskaloosa next Thursday, at 6:30pm in Adel.
If ADM can advance to the substate final, it will likely draw the number one team in Class 2A, the Norwalk Warriors.
