lake panoramaThe Lake Panorama Association held its annual meeting a couple of weeks ago, and one of the main items discussed provides some almost haunting irony given what happened out at the lake on Mother’s Day night.

General Manager John Rutledge explains…

“It was the easiest annual meeting we’ve ever had, but I had one question, and in all honesty… the one question I had was, ‘has the lake ever thought about installing tornado sirens?’.”

Even with such irony in play, Rutledge believes there are other routes lake residents can take to be safe from severe storms.

“We talked at length about it and we’ve looked at it.  It would be (about) $200,000 and we’ve opted not to (install) them because we feel there are other options out there that better serve our people… look at the CodeRed system and register for it because that’s the route we’re going here at the lake.”

Also as part of the annual meeting, the LPA welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors–they are Bob Batschelet and Tom Jeschke.

Tune-in to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours to hear part two of our recent conversation with Rutledge on K107.
