The Panora Chamber of Commerce and Panora City Hall are now accepting registrations for the town’s 2014 Community-Wide Garage & Sidewalk Sales.

The event will take place Friday, June 13th, from 5 to 8pm, and Saturday, June 14th, from 8am to 3pm, but registrations must be received by 3pm on Friday, June 6th.

Event coordinator Gayle Shackelford says the sale days are a great way to highlight the Panora community.

“We have lots of great stores here in Panora and eating establishments and a lot of great places to see.  We like to hold this event to hopefully bring people into town for the day so that they can enjoy the event and participate if they have things they would like to get rid of too.”

Shackelford has been part of garage and sidewalk sales coordination for the past eight years, and she says participation in the event has been steady.

“We break the categories into the town participants and then Lake Panorama participants, and we typically have anywhere from 20 to 25 participants both at the lake as well as in town… so you’re looking at probably about 50 garage sales happening around the area.”

Once registrations are handed in, Shackelford says a map of Panora and Lake Panorama homes participating in the sales will be handed out to area residents.

The cost to participate in the garage and sidewalk sales is $7, and registrations should be handed in at Panora City Hall.
