We heard from Scoop the Loop coordinator Bob Cook multiple times last week as he previewed the big event coming up in Stuart this Saturday.

But before the wrestling salute program and the actual car show, a wrestling clinic is being put on Saturday morning featuring some of the Scoop the Loop participants.

Cook and clinic organizer Mick Askren say Stuart-Menlo’s three state champions–Dan McKee (1971 & ‘72), Tim O’Brien (1989) and Chris Swalla (1991)–will lead the clinic to teach area wrestlers good technique, match preparation and strength training skills, and proper ways to maintain weight.

Askren invites all area wrestlers to attend the clinic, which costs $10 per participant.  It will be held from 9am to noon this Saturday in the West Central Valley High School gym.

All proceeds will be used to send West Central Valley wrestlers to their summer camp.
