Soccer ballThe ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team plays in its regular season finale on the road tonight against Indianola.

The Tigers are now 13-2 on the season after they wrapped up the Raccoon River Conference championship last Friday with a 5-2 win over Ballard.  Coach Kelsey Dolder’s squad showed why it’s one of the top teams in Class 2A in the win over the Bombers, as five different Tigers scored.

One of the five goals came from senior leader Carol Maher, who has 16 goals on the season entering tonight’s game.  Those 16 goals rank her tied for 11th in goal-scoring in the state.

As a team the Tigers have been rewarded for their current four-game winning streak–the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union now has them ranked 7th in Class 2A.  Still ranked ahead of ADM though is Dallas Center-Grimes, ranked 6th.

With regional play about to begin, the Tigers and Mustangs are still on a collision course to face each other in the Region 3 final with a berth to state on the line.
