The Guthrie County Conservation Board and Guthrie County’s Pheasants Forever group will be holding a hunter education and safety course next month at the Springbrook Education Center.

The classes will be held on Thursday, July 10th from 9am to 4pm, and then on Friday, July 11th, from 9am to 1pm.  The cost to participate in the two-day session is $9.  This will help pay for the lunch that will be provided during Friday’s class.

Natural Resource Manager Brad Halterman says anyone born after January 1st of 1972 must have satisfactorily completed a hunter’s education course and must be at least 12 years old before obtaining an Iowa Hunter’s Safety Certificate or license.

Pre-registration for the course is required by July 7th or until it is full.  Attendance at both days is required to obtain a hunter’s safety certificate.

Anyone with questions or if you’d like to register, contact Halterman at the Guthrie County Conservation Board Office by calling 641-755-3061.
