The Perry softball team won both games Friday in the opening day of the Woodward Granger Classic.  The Jayettes fought back from a 4-0 deficit to Ogden to beat the Bulldogs 9-8.  The Jayettes scored seven times in the fifth inning with Julie Diw, Rachel Kinney and Brook Huntington all finishing with a 2-4 game with Diw and Huntington adding 2 RBI’s apeice.  The game went international rules and Huntington delivered a walk off 2 run double to avoid the upset.  Emma Olenjzack picked up the win in relief of 8th grader Sidney Vancil.  IN game 2, the Jayettes scored the first three and the final 6 runs in beating Madrid 11-5.  Victoria Hegstrom connected for her second home run of the season, and Katelyn Whelchel added two hits and 3 RBI’s.  Olenjack went4-4 with 2 runs scored.  Huntington, Diw and Kinne all added 2 hits apiece.  Olenjzack went the distance to earn her second win of the day.
Perry will play CB AL today 10:45 and WGranger at 4:00.  Perry’s record is now 7-5.
