After meeting earlier this week, the Panorama School Board has approved several building and district projects for the summer ahead.
According to Superintendent Kathy Elliot, the projects will be funded by the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and the one-cent sales tax (SAVE).
First off, Elliot says the playground at the elementary school will be fenced in on the south and west sides to allow for the school’s circle drive to stay open during the school day. The playground will also be getting $16,000 of new equipment, and a new retaining wall will be put in place on the south end of the playground.
A paved sidewalk and additional parking lot will be put in south of the elementary playground, creating up to 20 more parkings spots for visitors and staff.
Next, the elementary school library computer lab will receive 26 new student computers, and elementary teachers will receive all new computers and computer stations.
Elliot says another district project entails the installation of new bleachers in the high school gymnasium. The gym’s walls will also receive a fresh paint job this summer.
Elliot says the School Board has given the green light on these projects because they will “increase student and community safety, improve access to facilities, and address technology needs.”
