Greene County lost 6-3 in Jefferson on Friday night in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball to the North Polk (Alleman) Comets, the second ranked team in Class 2A. NP improved to 10-3 overall and 7-0 in the conference while the Rams lost their fifth straight game to fall to 3-8 overall and 3-6 in the conference.

The Comets scored two runs in the first and fourth in the third while the Rams had single runs in the second, third, and fifth innings. NP had 10 hits and two errors while the Rams had seven hits and three errors. Losing pitcher Colton Fitzpatrick went all seven innings for the Rams, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and two walks. He recorded three strikeouts.

Alex Rasmussen had two singles and two runs batted in for the Rams and JC Weitl doubled, singled, and had one RBI. The other Greene County hits were singles from Fitzpatrick, Daric Whipple, and Jordan Challen.
