Panorama Panthers PicThe Panorama School Board didn’t just green light an elementary playground project for this summer when it met last week.

The Board has also elected to purchase a bevy of new KUNO Android tablets for future use by students and teachers.  Superintendent Kathy Elliot says the purchase of these tablets will help “to transform student learning.”

The KUNO tablets are specifically designed for educational use, and students will be able to access course content, applications, videos and homework while at the building or when they leave for home.  Elliot says students will now be able to work on and submit assignments without Internet access through the use of the KUNO tablets, and that assignment will automatically upload to the teacher once the student arrives at school when Internet is available.

Elliot says the tablets will be leased through the 2018 school year using district funds from Iowa’s one-cent sales tax.

Teachers will begin using the tablets this fall, and all students in grades 3-12 will have their own KUNO tablet starting in the fall of 2015 as part of the district’s 1-to-1 technology initiative.
