Jason Book and the ADM baseball team went 1-1 on Saturday at the Perry Invite. The Tigers beat Earlham for a second time this season before falling to Harlan 8-3.
In game one against Earlham, the Tigers scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to squeeze out a close 8-7 win. Junior Chase Eddie made his first start of the year on the hill for ADM–he went three innings and allowed just two hits and two earned runs.
Logan Essy got the win for the Tigers against Earlham, as he threw the final two innings in relief and allowed no runs on just two hits.
In game two, Harlan got to ADM starter Logan Lemke for eight runs over the third and fourth innings and that was pretty much the ballgame. The Tigers would score a run each in the fifth and sixth innings but the 8-3 final score was the closest they would get to the Cyclones in defeat.
Coach Book’s club is back in action tonight. The Tigers welcome conference foe Carroll to Adel, with first-pitch scheduled for 7:30 on K107.
