The ADM softball team went 3-1 over the weekend at the Roland-Story Invitational.
The Tigers rolled to three shutout wins over Madrid, Gilbert and Roland-Story, but Class 5A Ames High got the better of Rick Dillinger’s club Saturday by the score of 3-2.
Molly Jacobsen had another fantastic weekend in the pitcher’s circle for ADM, throwing 27 innings over the four games and she surrendered just 10 hits. One of Jacobsen’s wins was a no-hitter against Madrid. She had 39 strikeouts in the Tigers’ four games, and her 197 strikeouts on the season are the most in Class 3A and the second-most across all classes of Iowa High School softball.
ADM had a nice weekend offensively too. The Tigers pounded out 35 hits and scored 27 runs in their four games.
Despite the loss to Ames, ADM has won 9 of its past 10 games heading into a very busy week ahead. The Tigers play Carroll tonight, Bondurant-Farrar tomorrow and Boone Wednesday–ll are at home.
ADM then travels to Norwalk for a game Thursday and to Solon for a tournament over the weekend. In that tournament, the Tigers will play Iowa City High, Keokuk, Ottumwa, and Des Moines Lincoln.
