The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.
The Board appropriated 85% from its fiscal year 2015 funds to all the county departments and offices and they approved the next fiscal year’s salaries and wages to increase by three percent for department heads starting July 1st.
More fireworks permits were approved which included Doug Hawn, Darlene Zollars, Larry Monthei and Jack Williams Jr.
May’s report of investment and driver’s licenses by the County Treasurer were approved by the Supervisors. The investments totaled $5,317,495.21 and there were 115 driver’s licenses issued last month.
Mental Health Coordinator Diane Jackson told the Board that their region which consists of Guthrie, Dallas, Audubon and Greene must pay a total of $551,000 to rebuild the crisis care center in Woodward from a 2005 tornado.
A public hearing has been set for this Thursday at 9am for drainage district 33 to clean out a drainage ditch and at 9:30am for drainage district 190 to discuss annexation. Those hearings will be held in the boardroom of the courthouse.
Continuing discussion took place about a county-wide nuisance ordinance. Negative public comments were brought up by Supervisor Tom Contner and he said he firmly stands behind not being in favor of an ordinance along with board chair John Muir. However, Nick Martino, the county attorney, is working on a new draft to explain how cases may be handled in the future.
Finally, County Engineer Wade Weiss asked about a request for Scranton Manufacturing to use the county’s stage for their groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday and the Supervisors gave their permission to use it.
