Last year, Perry saw thousands of visitors who came to town for large events like the grand opening of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, RAGBRAI and Fly Iowa. While those events aren’t happening again this year, Perry continues to reap the benefits of such opportunities.
Mayor Jay Pattee says we may even be seeing the same numbers as a whole, just spread out more on a day-to-day basis. He says Perry is seeing a lot of traffic along the Raccoon River Valley Trail and many of them are shopping in our stores, staying at the hotel and eating at your restaurants.
And the Mayor says he doesn’t expect that to slow down any time soon.
Pattee says there are things that have been talked about for years now and they’re finally happening, which will just continue to benefit Perry.
