baseballIt took extra innings, but the ADM baseball got a much needed bounce back win last night in Adel–the Tigers defeated Boone 5-4.

ADM actually led 4-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning, but the Toreadors extended the game with two runs in that frame.

The score would stay at 4-4 until the bottom of the ninth.  Right fielder Logan Lemke led off the inning with a base hit and he then advanced to second on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by pinch-hitter Blake Crannell.

Two batters later, with Lemke standing at third, leadoff man Grant Goeden hit a ground ball down the third base line and he legged out the throw for the game-winning RBI single.

Big lefty Sam Kornstad got the win on the hill for the Tigers, as he threw all nine innings, struck out three and allowed the four earned runs.  He threw 112 pitches over his nine innings last night.

ADM is now 6-4 in the Raccoon River Conference.  The Tigers play at Pella Christian tonight before taking on Bondurant-Farrar in a home conference game tomorrow.
