It might not be basketball season, but Greene County area youth are invited to participate in a couple of basketball camps next month.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says kids going into second and third grades this fall are eligible for their mini basketball camp at the elementary building in Jefferson.

She notes that participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball and learn to work as a team.  Sessions will be from Monday, July 7th through Friday, July 11th from 11-11:45am.  The deadline to sign up with a $15 fee is today.

Lautner states that they will be putting on a new program called basketball fit.  She comments that this class will help you further your off-season training for basketball.  Those sessions will be on Mondays starting July 7th through August 4th from noon-1pm at the Greene County Community Center.  It is for 7th-12th graders and space is limited with a $25 fee.
